FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi network cannot be enabled

The FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi network cannot be enabled. After you push the WLAN button on the FRITZ!Box briefly, the WLAN LED flashes continuously. The WLAN LED does not light up even if you enter the keypad code #96*1* on a telephone connected to the FRITZ!Box. The FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi network is not found even though it is enabled in the user interface and Wi-Fi settings can be changed.

Cause

  • When the recovery program is run, the Wi-Fi function is disabled and is not available again until an internet connection is established.

1 Preparations

  1. Use a network cable to connect a computer to a LAN port on the FRITZ!Box.

2 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Account Information" in the "Internet" menu.
  3. Enter your internet account information.
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

The Wi-Fi function is automatically enabled once the FRITZ!Box has established the internet connection.
