How much data is transmitted during internet calls?

The amount of data transmitted during internet calls depends on the audio codec that is used. The FRITZ!Box gives priority to the codecs G.711 and G.722. With these codecs, 100 to 110 kbit/s are transmitted in both directions for every call (for a total of up to 220 kbit/s). Other codecs transmit the same or a smaller amount of data.

Example:
If you spend an hour conducting calls over the internet every day, a total of approximately 3 GB of data (approximately 1.5 GB in each direction) is generated in 30 days.
