Cannot register a FRITZ!DECT radiator control

Registration of the radiator control, for example FRITZ!DECT 301, to the FRITZ!Box fails. After you push the DECT or Connect button on the FRITZ!Box, the DECT connection is not established. The symbol for the radio connection is not permanently shown in the display of the radiator control. The radiator control is not displayed or is displayed with an inactive connection in the menu "(Home Network >) Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.

1 Maximum number has been reached

You can register up to twelve radiator controls with the FRITZ!Box. If you have already registered twelve devices, you cannot register any more.

Note:Registering a radiator control does not reduce the number of telephones, the number of DECT repeaters, or the number of smart home devices that can be registered, for example FRITZ!DECT lights, FRITZ!DECT smart plugs, FRITZ!DECT smart switches.

2 Unlocking the buttons

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Buttons and LEDs" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Keylock" tab.
  4. Disable the "Buttons locked" checkbox.

  2. Click "Base Station" in the "DECT" menu.
  3. Disable the option "DECT Eco" in the section "Radio Field Strength".
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

5 Enabling encryption

  2. Click "Base Station" in the "DECT" menu.
