Setting up the FRITZ!Box for use with a PŸUR cable connection

The FRITZ!Box Cable is optimally prepared for use with a PŸUR cable connection (formerly primacom, Tele Columbus). Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the multimedia outlet and have PŸUR activate it. If PŸUR provided you with the FRITZ!Box, it is already activated and will be configured automatically.

The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and multimedia is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

1 Having your account information ready

  1. Have your personal account information for PŸUR's activation portal and the password for telephony ready:
    1. You will find the account information for the activation portal in the letter that you received from PŸUR before they activated your connection.
    2. You can find the password for telephony in your personal customer area of PŸUR under "Meine Daten > Telefoniezugangsdaten (SIP-Telefonie)".

Note:If you did not receive your account information, contact PŸUR.

2 Connecting the FRITZ!Box

  1. Insert one end of the coaxial cable into the "Cable" port on the FRITZ!Box.Use the coaxial cable supplied with the FRITZ!Box, for example.
  2. Insert the other end of the coaxial cable into the socket for the internet connection (data socket) on the multimedia outlet in your home.

3 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password on the bottom of the device and click "Log In".
  3. If the menu "Set up Internet Connection" is not displayed automatically:
    1. Click "Internet" and then "Account Information".
    2. Enable the option "Internet connection via cable".
  4. Wait until the "Power / Cable" LED remains lit. Depending on the signal strength and the way your connection is configured, this may take up to 10 minutes.

Important:If the "Power / Cable" LED flashes continuously, the cable connection has not been activated yet or the service is disrupted. In this case, contact PŸUR.

  5. Open a new window in your web browser and call up a web page of your choice, for example en.avm.de.
    • Now you are forwarded to PŸUR's activation portal.

Note:If you are using Google Chrome, you will be shown a security warning first. Confirm it by clicking "Advanced" and then "Proceed to [...] (unsafe)" to be forwarded to the activation portal.

  6. Enter your account information that you received from PŸUR in the corresponding fields of the activation portal and click "Login".
  7. Agree to the conditions for using your own terminal device and click "Jetzt aktivieren".
    • Now PŸUR activates the FRITZ!Box.
