Setting up FRITZ!Box for use with a Tweak line

The FRITZ!Box is optimally prepared for use with Tweak. Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the fiber optic connection, select Tweak as the internet service provider in the FRITZ!Box, and set up telephony. The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and television (Canal Digitaal) is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Inserting the SFP module into the FRITZ!Box

The FRITZ!Box is available in several different product variants, each of which is delivered with different components. If there was no SFP module inserted in your FRITZ!Box, perform the following steps:

  1. Insert the SFP module "FRITZ!SFP AON" into the SFP slot of the FRITZ!Box.

2 Connecting the FRITZ!Box to your fiber optic connection

  1. Remove the dust protection caps from the fiber optic cable, the SFP module in the FRITZ!Box, and from the fiber optic socket.
  2. Connect the fiber optic cable to the SFP module in the FRITZ!Box and to the fiber optic socket. Do not bend the fiber optic cable and do not hold the ends of the cable in front of your eyes.

3 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password on the bottom of the device and click "Log In".
  3. If the menu "Account Information" is not displayed automatically, click "Account Information" in the "Internet" menu.
  4. Select "Tweak" from the drop-down list "Internet service provider".
  5. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Now the FRITZ!Box checks whether the internet connection can be established. Configuration is completed as soon as the message "The internet connection check was successful" is displayed.

Important:If the internet connection check fails, your internet access may not have been activated yet. In this case, contact Tweak.

4 Setting up telephony in the FRITZ!Box

Having your login information ready

  1. Have the login information for telephony that you received from Tweak ready.

    Note:Tweak sent you the login information via email or in the mail after you concluded the contract with them. If you did not receive your login information, contact Tweak.

Configuring telephone numbers

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the "New Telephone Number" button.
  4. Select "Other provider" from the drop-down list.
  5. Enter your telephone number including the area code (for example 31201234567) by "Telephone number for registration".
  6. Enter your telephone number (for example 1234567) by "Internal telephone number in the FRITZ!Box".
  7. Enter your telephone number including the area code (for example 31201234567) by "Username".
  8. For the "Password", enter the password you received from Tweak.
  9. Enter sip.tweakphone.nl in the field "Registrar".
  10. Enter sip.tweakphone.nl in the "Proxy server" field.
  11. Enter your area code by "Area code".
  12. Click "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.

Assigning telephone numbers

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephony Devices" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the (Edit) button for the respective telephony device.

    Important:If the telephony device was not configured yet, click the "Configure New Device" button and follow the wizard's instructions.

  4. From the drop-down list "Outgoing Calls", select the number to be used by the telephony device for making calls. If you do not select a telephone number, the number entered under "Telephony > Telephone Numbers > Line Settings" is used for making outgoing calls.
  5. Select the numbers to which the telephony device should react when you receive calls. You can select up to ten numbers (including the number for outgoing calls).
  6. Click "OK" to save the settings.
