File formats supported by the media server

The FRITZ!Box Media Server can transmit music, image, and video files as well as internet radio stations and podcasts in different file formats (such as audio, video, and container format) to playback devices or software in the home network. This way you can access a central media collection from all computers and many other devices in the FRITZ!Box home network such as televisions, smartphones, and wireless music systems.

Note:Not every playback device or software can play all file formats. Refer to the manufacturer for information on which file formats are supported, for example consult the manual.

The FRITZ!Box media server supports the following file formats:

Important:If the FRITZ!Box cannot interpret the TAG information of a particular media file (marked with an asterisk in the table), then the playback device or software only displays it in the view "Folder" and "All tracks", "All videos" or "All images" (depending on the file type).
