Determining the MAC address of the FRITZ!Repeater

A MAC address (Media Access Control address) serves as a unique identifier of a device in a network. Due to its functionality, the FRITZ!Repeater has different MAC addresses:

  • The FRITZ!Repeater uses a MAC address for wireless devices that connect to the repeater's Wi-Fi network.
  • The FRITZ!Repeater uses the other MAC address for the Wi-Fi connection to the wireless router whose Wi-Fi network it extends.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest firmware for the FRITZ!Repeater.

1 Determining the MAC address

  1. Click "Wi-Fi" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Monitor" in the "Wi-Fi" menu.
  3. Make note of the corresponding "WLAN MAC Address" in the "Local WLAN Information" section.
