FRITZ!Repeater N/G Service

Connecting FRITZ!Repeater with a FRITZ!Box via guest access

In addition to extending your private wireless network, the FRITZ!Repeater can also extend the guest network of the FRITZ!Box. This way you can also offer your guests internet access at an even greater distance from the FRITZ!Box, without allowing them to access your home network or the FRITZ!Box user interface.

Set up the wireless connection between the FRITZ!Repeater and the guest network manually because the WPS method (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) can only be used to set up a wireless connection to your private wireless network.

1 Loading the FRITZ!Repeater's factory settings

Before you can configure the following settings, you must return the FRITZ!Repeater to its factory settings:

  1. Unplug the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Plug it in again after 5 seconds. The "FRITZ" symbol appears on the LED display after about 10 seconds:

  3. Tap the left touch point 2 or 3 times until the "load factory settings" symbol appears:

  4. Tap the middle of the LED display. The pulsating check "confirm entry" symbol now appears on the LED display:

  5. Tap the middle of the LED display again. Now the FRITZ!Repeater restarts and loads the factory settings.
  6. The "run WPS for the first time" symbol is displayed on the LED display as soon as the factory settings have finished loading.

  3. Open the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  4. Follow the wizard’s instructions and connect the FRITZ!Repeater with the FRITZ!Box's wireless guest network:

Now the FRITZ!Repeater establishes a wireless connection to the guest network of the FRITZ!Box. The process is completed as soon as the "Wireless LAN field strength" symbol is shown on the FRITZ!Repeater's LED display:
