Updating FRITZ!OS of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater

FRITZ!OS is the software stored in the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater that controls all of its functions. We make new FRITZ!OS versions available on a regular basis that enhance and add new functions to your repeater.

The "Online Update" function allows you to install the latest FRITZ!OS quickly and easily.
If you cannot use the "online update" function, for example when the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater is not connected to the Internet, update the firmware manually.

The LEDs flash while the update is being transmitted to the repeater.

ATTENTION!Do not disconnect the repeater from the computer during the update process, and do not unplug the repeater because interrupting the update process could damage your repeater! However, if the "Power" LED continues to flash 10 minutes after starting the update, unplug the repeater for 5 seconds.

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
  2. Click "Firmware Update" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Online Update" tab and then click the "Find New Firmware" button.
  4. Click the "Start Update" button.
