FRITZ!Repeater DVB-C Service

FRITZ!Repeater cannot establish a wireless connection to FRITZ!Box

After you set up the FRITZ!Repeater, it cannot establish a wireless connection (WiFi) to FRITZ!Box. The signal strength LEDs on the FRITZ!Repeater flash for a while and then turn off.

To resolve the problem, simply proceed as described below.

1 Briefly disabling the MAC address filter

If you want to manually connect the FRITZ!Repeater with the FRITZ!Box, the FRITZ!Box's MAC address filter must be disabled:

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Security" or "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Enable the option "Allow all new wireless devices". If the option is not displayed, enable the Advanced View first.
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

2 Enabling the 2.4 GHz frequency band

To connect the FRITZ!Repeater with the FRITZ!Box by pushing a button (WPS), the FRITZ!Box's 2.4 GHz frequency band must be enabled:

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Enable the 2.4-GHz frequency band. If only one frequency band is displayed, enable the Advanced View first.
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

3 Disabling the keylock

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Buttons and LEDs" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Keylock" tab.
  4. Disable the keylock.
  5. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

4 Enabling the WPS function

To connect the FRITZ!Repeater with the FRITZ!Box by pushing a button (WPS), WPS must be enabled in the FRITZ!Box:

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Security" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Click on the "WPS Quick Connection" tab.
  4. Enable WPS.
  5. Select "Push-Button method (WPS-PBC, Push Button Configuration)" and click "Start WPS".
