FRITZ!WLAN Repeater DVB-C Service

Configuring the push service

You can have the push service send you emails with the connection and usage data of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater at regular intervals or when certain events occur. Then the FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters notifies you when a new FRITZ!OS is available, for example, or it automatically sends you a backup file with your settings before every FRITZ!OS update.

1 Entering email account information

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
  2. Click "Push Service" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click the "Configure Push Service" link. If the link is not shown, click on the "Sender" tab.
  4. Enter your email address and password.
  5. Click "Account Information - Additional Settings".

    Note:In most cases, the FRITZ!Box automatically fills in the following information. With smaller local providers, you have to enter it yourself. Refer to your email provider for the required information.

  6. Enter your user name and the name of your email provider's SMTP server.
  7. If the server cannot be reached over port 25, enter the port used by the server to communicate in the "Port" field, for example 587.
  8. If the server supports SSL, enable the option "This server supports a secure connection (SSL)".
  9. Enable the option "Test email sending after adopting the settings". If the option is not available, the test email will be sent automatically.
  10. Click "Apply" or "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.
  11. Now the repeater sends a test email to your email account.

2 Enabling the push service

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
  2. Click "Push Service" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click the button (Edit) next to the push services you would like to use.
  4. Enable the option "Push service enabled" and configure the individual push services.
  5. Click "OK" to save the settings.
