FRITZ!Repeater DVB-C Service

Setting up FRITZ!Repeater in the FRITZ!Box home network

The FRITZ!Repeater easily and efficiently adds an additional wireless access point to your home network. This way you will even have ideal wireless reception and high-speed connections to the internet and home network outside the wireless range (WiFi) of your FRITZ!Box.

When using a FRITZ!Box with FRITZ!OS 7 or later, the FRITZ!Repeater is automatically integrated into the FRITZ! Mesh during setup. The FRITZ!Repeater adopts all of the wireless settings from the FRITZ!Box, such as wireless access information and guest access, and can be used directly by all wireless devices in the home network.

The FRITZ!Repeater also makes cable TV offered by your cable provider (DVB-C) available in the home network in the form of an IP stream. That means that you do not have to miss your favorite show when another family member is already using the television.

There are various ways to connect the FRITZ!Repeater with the home network. Which connection type is best depends on the operational environment.

1 Connecting the FRITZ!Repeater with a FRITZ!Box via wireless LAN

  • you want to integrate a device without wireless capabilities, for example an IPTV receiver, into the home network using a LAN port on the FRITZ!Repeater.
  • the FRITZ!Repeater should be repositioned quickly and easily if necessary.
