Changing the name of the wireless network (SSID) of the FRITZ!Box

In the factory settings, the FRITZ!Box has a preset wireless network name (SSID). If you want to use a unique name for your wireless network, you can easily change the wireless network name.

1 Changing the name of the wireless network (SSID)

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. In the field "Name of the wireless radio network (SSID)", enter a unique name for the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz frequency band (if applicable). If only one field is displayed, enable the Advanced View or enable the option "Different names for the radio network on 2.4 and 5 GHz" first.
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
