FRITZ!Repeater 310 Service

Changing the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID) of the FRITZ!Box

In the factory settings, the FRITZ!Box has a preset Wi-Fi network name (SSID). If you want to use a unique name for your Wi-Fi network, you can easily change the Wi-Fi network name.

If your FRITZ!Box supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, recommend always using an identical Wi-Fi network name for both frequency bands so that the FRITZ!Box can automatically steer individual wireless devices to the most suitable frequency band (Mesh Wi-Fi steering).

1 Changing the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID)

  1. Click "Wi-Fi" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Wi-Fi Network" ("Radio Network") in the "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") menu.
  3. In the field "Name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID)", enter a unique name for the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz frequency band (if applicable). If only one field is displayed, enable the Advanced View or enable the option "Different names for the radio network on 2.4 and 5 GHz".
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
