FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1750E Service

Using the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater in a home network without a DHCP server

By default, the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater obtains its IP settings from the wireless router (for example FRITZ!Box) via DHCP. If you want to use the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater in a home network without a DHCP server, you must manually configure the IP settings.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.

1 Preparing the device

For the duration of setup, assign the following IP settings to the device you want to configure the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater with:

Configuring the device to automatically obtain IP settings

The following step is only necessary if you want to configure the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater as a LAN bridge with static IP settings:

Configuring the device for the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater's IP network

The following step is only necessary if you want to configure the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater as a wireless bridge with static IP settings:

  1. Enter 192.168.178.200 as the IP address in the device.
  2. Enter 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask in the device.
  3. Enter 192.168.178.2 as the standard gateway in the device.
  4. Enter 192.168.178.2 as the DNS server in the device.

2 Assigning static IP settings to FRITZ!WLAN Repeater

Configuring the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater as a LAN bridge

  1. Configure the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater as a LAN bridge and select the option "Configure the IP address manually" in the wizard.

Setting up the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater as a wireless bridge

  1. Set up the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater as a wireless bridge.

    Important:When setting up the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater, it assumes the wireless router's network name (SSID). Therefore, connect the devices to the wireless router's wireless network after setting up the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.

  2. Click "Network" in the user interface of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
  3. Click "Network Settings" in the "Network" menu.
  4. Enable the option "Configure the IP address manually".
  5. Enter the IP settings in the corresponding fields.
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Now the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater uses static IP settings. Return the device you used to configure the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater to its original IP settings.
