FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1750E Service

Setting up a wireless connection to the FRITZ!Repeater

Connect any wireless devices to the FRITZ!Repeater's wireless network (WiFi) so they can access your home network and the internet. To do so, set up the wireless connection on each device just once as described here. The wireless device then establishes the connection automatically.

There are two ways to set up the wireless connection to the FRITZ!Repeater:

  • With the WPS method (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) you can set up the wireless connection safely and automatically by pushing a button.
  • You can manually set up the wireless connection by entering the FRITZ!Repeater's network key in the wireless device.

1 Preparations

  1. Check whether the wireless device supports configuring wireless connections at the push of a button (WPS PBC - Push Button Configuration).

    Note:WPS is supported by computers with Windows 10 / 8 / 7, current Intel wireless network adapters, many media players, and wireless music systems, for example. To find out whether a device supports WPS, refer to the manufacturer of the device, for example consult the manual.

  2. If the wireless devices supports the WPS method, use the WPS method to set up a wireless connection to the FRITZ!Repeater.
    • If the wireless device does not support the WPS method, proceed with the following section.

2 Determining the FRITZ!Repeater's wireless settings

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Make note of the name of the wireless network (SSID).
  4. Click "Security" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  5. Make note of the network key.

3 Establishing a wireless connection to FRITZ!Repeater

Windows 10

  1. Click "Start" and then "Settings" in the Windows task bar.
  2. Click "Network and Internet" and then "Wi-Fi" in the "Settings" menu.
  3. In the list of available connections, click the one that displays the name of the FRITZ!Repeater's wireless network (SSID) and then "Connect".
  4. Enter the FRITZ!Repeater's network key in the field "Enter the network security key" and click "Next".

Now the wireless connection is established.

Windows 8

  1. Press the keyboard shortcut Windows key + C.
    • The Windows sidebar now opens.
  2. Click "Settings" and then the wireless symbol in the Windows sidebar.
  3. In the list of available connections, click the one that displays the name of the FRITZ!Repeater's wireless network (SSID) and then "Connect".
  4. Enter the FRITZ!Repeater's network key in the field "Enter the network security key" and click "Next".
  5. Select the answer "Yes, turn on sharing and connect to devices".

Now the wireless connection is established and the field strength is displayed by the wireless symbol .

Windows 7

  1. Click the wireless symbol in the notification area of the Windows taskbar (Systray).
  2. In the list of available connections, click the one that displays the name of the FRITZ!Repeater's wireless network (SSID) and then "Connect".
  3. Enter the FRITZ!Repeater's network key in the "Security key" field and click "OK".

Now the wireless connection is established and the field strength is displayed by the wireless symbol .

Apple macOS

  1. Click the wireless symbol in the upper corner of your screen in the menu bar (see figure).

  2. Select the name of the FRITZ!Repeater's wireless network (SSID) from the context menu.
  3. Enter the FRITZ!Repeater's network key in the "Password" field and click "OK".

Now the wireless connection is established and the field strength is displayed by the wireless symbol.

Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch)

  1. Tap "Settings" on the home screen.
  2. Tap "Wi-Fi" in the "Settings" menu.
  3. If wireless LAN is turned off, tap the "On / Off" symbol.
  4. Under "Choose a network..." tap the name of the wireless network (SSID) of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  5. Enter the FRITZ!Repeater's network key in the "Password" field and tap "Join".

Now the wireless connection is established and the wireless symbol is displayed in the status bar next to the clock.

Android (for example Google Nexus, Samsung Galaxy)

Note:You can also use FRITZ!App WLAN to easily connect your Android device to the FRITZ!Repeater and have FRITZ!App WLAN display useful information about your wireless connection.

  1. Tap the "Settings" symbol on the home screen of the Android device.
  2. Tap "Wi-Fi" in the "Settings" menu.
  3. If wireless LAN is turned off, tap the "OFF" symbol next to the "Wi-Fi" option to enable wireless LAN.
  4. Tap the connection that displays the wireless network name (SSID) of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  5. Enter the FRITZ!Repeater's network key in the "Password" field and tap "Connect".

Now the wireless connection is established.

Linux and other operating systems or devices (for example NAS systems, network printer)

  1. Use your wireless device to search for wireless networks in the vicinity.

    Note:You can find instructions on establishing wireless connections in the manual, or consult the manufacturer of the wireless device directly.

  2. Select the FRITZ!Repeater's wireless network (SSID) and enter the FRITZ!Repeater's network key, if asked to do so.

Now the wireless connection is established.
