Cannot switch wireless LAN off by pushing a button

The wireless network (WiFi) of the FRITZ!Repeater does not switch off when you push the "WPS" button.

Cause

  • The option to switch wireless LAN on or off by pushing a button was removed from FRITZ!OS 6.90 so you can set up wireless connections and integrate the FRITZ!Repeater into your Mesh by pushing a button.

The FRITZ!Repeater's wireless network can either be switched on or off automatically using the schedule function or manually using the user interface. You can push a button to switch the wireless LAN on again whenever you want.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Repeater.

1 Disabling the adoption of settings from the Mesh

When used in a Mesh, you must first disable the adoption of settings in the FRITZ!Repeater:

  3. Enable the option "Use schedule for wireless radio network" and define when the repeater's wireless network should be switched off.
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

3 Switching the wireless function manually

You can use the user interface to switch wireless LAN off manually:

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Enable or disable the option "Wireless radio network enabled".
