FRITZ!Repeater 3000

Changing the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID) of the FRITZ!Box

In the factory settings, the FRITZ!Box has a preset Wi-Fi network name (SSID). If you want to use a unique name for your Wi-Fi network, you can easily change the Wi-Fi network name.

If your FRITZ!Box supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, recommend always using an identical Wi-Fi network name for both frequency bands so that the FRITZ!Box can automatically steer individual wireless devices to the most suitable frequency band (Mesh Wi-Fi steering).

1 Changing the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID)

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. In the field "Name of the wireless radio network (SSID)", enter a unique name for the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz frequency band (if applicable). If only one field is displayed, enable the Advanced View or enable the option "Different names for the radio network on 2.4 and 5 GHz".
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
