Determining FRITZ!Powerline's MAC address

A MAC address (Media Access Control address) serves to uniquely identify a device in a network.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Powerline adapter.

1 Determining the MAC address with wireless bridge connection type

The following step is only necessary if the FRITZ!Powerline adapter is connected to the wireless router over wireless LAN:

  1. Click "Access to Home Network" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Powerline adapter.
  2. Make note of the MAC address in the "Local Wireless Network Information" section.

2 Determining the MAC address with LAN bridge or powerline bridge connection type

The following step is only necessary if the FRITZ!Powerline adapter is connected to the router over LAN or powerline:

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the user interface of the FRITZ!Powerline adapter.
  2. Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Make note of the MAC address listed in the "Radio Network" section.

    Note:This MAC address is visible to wireless devices that connect to the FRITZ!Powerline adapter's wireless network. The MAC address for the LAN connection to the router is displayed in the router.
