Determining FRITZ!Powerline's MAC address
A MAC address (Media Access Control address) serves as a unique identifier of a device in a network.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Powerline adapter.
1 Determining the MAC address with wireless bridge connection type
The following step is only necessary if the FRITZ!Powerline adapter is connected to the wireless router via Wi-Fi:
- Click "Access to Home Network" in the user interface of FRITZ!Powerline.
- The MAC address is listed in the section "Local Wi-Fi Network Information".
2 Determining the MAC address with LAN bridge or powerline bridge connection type
The following step is only necessary if the FRITZ!Powerline adapter is connected to the router over LAN or powerline:
- Click "Wi-Fi" in the user interface of FRITZ!Powerline.
- Click "Wi-Fi Network" ("Radio Network") in the "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") menu.
- The MAC address is listed in the section "Radio Network".
Note:This MAC address is visible to wireless devices that connect to the FRITZ!Powerline adapter's Wi-Fi network. The MAC address for the LAN connection to the router is displayed in the router.
