FRITZ!Powerline 1240E Service

A Fitbit scale cannot establish a wireless connection

An Aria wireless scale from Fitbit cannot establish a wireless connection (WiFi) to FRITZ!Powerline.

Cause

  • The scale uses the outdated wireless standard 802.11b. This standard is disabled in the FRITZ!Powerline adapter by default because the user data rate of all wireless devices is reduced when 802.11b support is enabled, even if none of the wireless devices are using this standard.

Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for FRITZ!Powerline.

Enabling the wireless standard 802.11b in FRITZ!Powerline

If you are using a FRITZ!Powerline adapter with a FRITZ!Box that supports Mesh, you must first disable the adoption of settings from the FRITZ!Box (Mesh Master). Then you can enable the wireless standard in the user interface of the FRITZ!Powerline adapter:

Disabling the adoption of the settings from the Mesh

  1. Click "Access to Home Network" in the FRITZ!Powerline user interface.
  2. Disable the option "Automatically adopt wireless LAN settings".
  3. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Enabling the wireless standard 802.11b

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Powerline user interface.
  2. Click "Radio Channel" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Enable the option "Adjust radio channel settings".
  4. Click "Additional Settings".
  5. Select the standard "802.11n+g+b" from the "Wireless standard" drop-down list.
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Now the scale can establish a wireless connection to FRITZ!Powerline.
