Setting up a wireless connection to FRITZ!Powerline

Connect any wireless devices to the wireless network (WiFi) of the FRITZ!Powerline adapter so they can access your home network and the internet. To do so, set up the wireless connection on each device just once as described here. The wireless device then establishes the connection automatically.

There are two ways to set up the wireless connection to the FRITZ!Powerline adapter:

  • With the WPS method (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) you can set up the wireless connection safely and automatically by pushing a button.
  • You can manually set up the wireless connection by entering the FRITZ!Powerline adapter's unique network key in the wireless device.

1 Preparations

  1. Check whether the wireless device supports configuring wireless connections at the push of a button (WPS PBC - Push Button Configuration).

Note:WPS is supported by computers with Windows 10 / 8 / 7, current Intel wireless network adapters, many media players, and wireless music systems, for example. To find out whether a device supports WPS, refer to the manufacturer of the device, for example consult the manual.

  2. If the wireless devices supports the WPS method, use the WPS method to set up a wireless connection to the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
    • If the wireless device does not support the WPS method, proceed with the following section.
