Using FRITZ!Powerline in different phases of the power supply
As a rule, home networking with FRITZ!Powerline is possible even when the FRITZ!Powerline adapters are used in different phases (phase conductors) of the home's power supply.
FRITZ!Powerline transmits ("modulates") the network data to the electrical wiring as high-frequency signals. This results in "crosstalk" of the powerline signal from one phase to the other as soon as the phase conductors run parallel over a distance of at least 0.5 meters. Since this is the case in almost every building, FRITZ!Powerline can also be used virtually loss-free across different phases. However, the best throughput rates are achieved when the same phase is used.
