FRITZ!Fon C5 Service

FRITZ!Fon reports "No resources"

You cannot use a FRITZ!Fon registered with a FRITZ!Box to make calls from a landline. When you attempt to make a call, one of the following messages is shown on the display of the telephone:

  • "No resources"
  • "No Resource"
  • "No Route to destination"

Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem persists.

1 Selecting the correct line type

The line type you must select when configuring your landline number(s) depends on how the FRITZ!Box is connected to the telephone line and not the number of available numbers. If you used the black TAE jack included with delivery to connect the FRITZ!Box, you must select "analog line" and if you are not using the adapter, select "(ISDN line)". Even if the FRITZ!Box is connected to the landline by means of another device (for example a cable modem), you must configure the correct line type in the FRITZ!Box:

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the "New telephone number" button.
  4. Enable the option "Landline number" and click "Next".
  5. Select the type of landline and click "Next".

    Important:You will only be asked to select the type of landline (analog or ISDN line) when you configure the first landline number. If you want to change the type of landline later, you must first delete all of the landline numbers you configured.

  6. Enter your landline number or ISDN telephone numbers (MSNs) and click "Next".

2 Checking the cabling

Incorrect cabling often goes unnoticed. Therefore, make sure that the FRITZ!Box is correctly connected to your line:

  1. Check the cabling to your landline.

3 Reconfiguring your telephone

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephony Devices" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Delete the telephone that cannot be used to make calls from your landline. To do so, click the corresponding (Delete) button.
  4. Reconfigure the telephone: Click "Configure New Device" and follow the instructions.

4 Checking the landline

  1. Disconnect the FRITZ!Box from the landline.
  2. Connect a telephone to the same line.
  3. If the telephone also does not work when connected to your line, contact your telephony provider and have your line checked.
