Enabling night mode

When night mode is enabled, the FRITZ!Fon display automatically switches to a darker start screen as soon as the brightness level in the room falls below a certain threshold. An analog clock is then displayed as the start screen; it is easy to read in the dark but the light is not disturbing.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • FRITZ!OS 6.80 or later is installed on the FRITZ!Box.

1 Installing the latest software for your telephone

2 Disabling power save

Since the display is switched off completely when the power save option is enabled, you cannot use night mode together with this option. You can either opt to leave night mode enabled at all times or only enable it when the telephone is either in or not in the charging cradle:

  1. Press the "Menu" key on the telephone.
  2. Scroll to "Settings" and press "OK".
  3. "Display" > "Power save"
  4. Disable the option "in cradle" if night mode should be enabled when the telephone is in the charging cradle.
  5. Disable the option "for battery operation" if night mode should be enabled when the telephone is not in the charging cradle.

3 Enabling night mode

  1. Press the "Menu" key on the telephone.
  2. Scroll to "Settings" and press "OK".
  3. "Display" > "OK" > "Night mode" > "On"

Night mode is now enabled. The telephone's light sensor now detects changes in the ambient brightness and the display is switched automatically. The brightness threshold is preset an cannot be changed.

Whenever the telephone registers activity or the brightness threshold has been exceeded, it switches to the usual start screen.
