FRITZ!DECT 400 Service

Setting up group switching for a FRITZ!DECT socket

You can combine several FRITZ!DECT sockets, for example FRITZ!DECT 200, into a group and easily switch them together. Then you can switch a group of several switchable sockets automatically according to a schedule or depending on temperature, and switch them on and off manually with a FRITZ!DECT smart button, for example FRITZ!DECT 400. In addition, you can also define a so-called "master" as a switch generator; when it is switched, the whole group is switched.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • To use the FRITZ!DECT smart button, FRITZ!OS 7.01 or later must be installed on the FRITZ!Box.

1 Creating a group

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click the "New Group" button.
  4. If asked to do so, enable the option "Switching Actuators" and click "OK".
  5. Enter a name for the group and select the smart home devices you want to switch together in the group.
  6. Click the "OK" button.
  7. In the next window, click "OK" to save the settings.

2 Switching a group

Outlet switches, so-called "switch actuators", that you have grouped together can either be controlled automatically via a "Master" or manually using the smart button:

Switching a group automatically

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Select the option "All groups" from the drop-down list "viewing".
  4. Click the (Edit) button for "Group switch" that corresponds to the group for which you want to configure automatic switching.
  5. In the "Automatic Switching" section, select the option "Switching a Group Automatically" and configure the desired switching times.
  6. Click "OK" to save the settings.

Switching a group via a "Master"

You can define a smart home device as the so-called "master"; when it is switched automatically or manually, all devices in the group assigned to it are switched as well. The "master" does not have to belong to the group you want to switch:

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Select the option "All groups" from the drop-down list "viewing".
  4. Click the button (Edit) that corresponds to the group for which you want to configure switching via a "Master".
  5. In the "Automatic Switching" section, enable the option "Switching a Group via a FRITZ! actuator ('Master')" and select the device you want to use as the "Master" from the drop-down list "Actuator".
  6. Click "OK" to save the settings.

Switching a group manually

If you use a smart button to manually switch a group that you also set up automatic switching for, the manual switching applies until the next automatic switching time occurs:

  1. Push the smart home button on the FRITZ!DECT smart button to switch the assigned outlet switch.
