Adjusting the temperature measured on a FRITZ!DECT radiator control

Since the temperature is measured on your FRITZ!DECT radiator control, it may be warmer or colder elsewhere in the room. You can either set the deviation from the actual room temperature that you measure with a thermometer in the middle of the room, for example, by yourself, or you can use FRITZ!DECT 440 as an external temperature sensor.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • To use FRITZ!DECT 440 as an external temperature sensor, FRITZ!OS 7.10 or later must be installed on the FRITZ!Box.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Setting the temperature offset

The temperature of a room is very different in different areas, especially during the heating phase. The time it takes for heat to distribute evenly depends on the ceiling height or the presence of niches and bay windows, for example, and can vary greatly. Therefore, do not set the offset until the room was constantly heated to the desired room temperatures for about 2 days so that the heat could be almost evenly distributed throughout the room:

Important:The temperature on the device itself can vary greatly due to daily fluctuations, for example occasional exposure to sunlight or reduced ventilation, heating up of the device, etc. The deviation between the temperature measured at the device and the actual room temperature is therefore not constant. Offset cannot be used to take variable temperature fluctuations into account.

  1. Click "Home Network" or "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu or click "Device Management" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  3. Click the (Edit) button for the respective device.
  4. Under "Temperature offset", set the actual room temperature by clicking the plus or minus.
  5. Click "OK" to save the settings.

2 Using a different temperature sensor

You can use FRITZ!DECT 440 as an external temperature sensor:

Using a temperature sensor

  1. Position FRITZ!DECT 440 at a suitable place in the room for measuring temperature, for example next to the sofa.
  2. Do not operate any devices near FRITZ!DECT 440 that produce warmth.

Selecting the temperature sensor

  1. Click "Home Network" or "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu or click "Device Management" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  3. Click the (Edit) button for the respective radiator control.
  4. Under "Temperature offset" enable the option "Adjust to automatic offset by means of an external temperature sensor".
  5. Select the desired temperature from the drop-down list.
  6. Click "OK" to save the settings.
