FRITZ!Box 7590 Service

Certain settings are missing from the FRITZ!Box user interface

You would like to use or configure a specific function, such as DynDNS, in the user interface. However, the corresponding settings (such as menu items, buttons) are not displayed although these settings are present in the user interface of a different FRITZ!Box of the same type.

Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem persists.

2 Internet service provider prevents update

If the "Update" menu is not available, then the internet service provider that provided the FRITZ!Box is preventing you from installing the FRITZ!OS update. It is therefore not possible to install an update using the FRITZ!Box user interface. Refer to your provider for information on the new FRITZ!OS version and possible dates.

3 Enabling the landline settings

The following steps are only necessary if the FRITZ!Box is connected with a telephone line (analog or ISDN) and the settings for landline telephony are missing from the user interface:

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click on the "Line Settings" tab.
  4. Enable the option "Landline enabled".
  5. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

4 The function cannot be used in the current operating mode

If certain settings (for example "online meter", "port sharing", "dynamic DNS", "IP settings" and "DSL information") are still missing, then this is due to the FRITZ!Box's operating mode (IP client mode or wireless repeater). When the FRITZ!Box is used as an IP client or a wireless repeater, some of its settings are grayed out because they cannot be used or do not make sense in that particular operating mode.

Note:If you would like to use the functions that are not available, you can configure them in the FRITZ!Box or router it is behind.

5 Function cannot be used with certain editions of FRITZ!Box

Various editions of the FRITZ!Box are available. Some are available in specific countries (for example special editions for Germany, Switzerland, Austria or international editions), and some editions are for a specific internet service provider. The functions offered by these different editions can differ. As a result, the corresponding settings (such as menu items, buttons) are not available, although they are offered by a different FRITZ!Box of the same type.
