Registering a smart home device from another manufacturer with the FRITZ!Box

You can also register smart home devices from other manufacturers with your FRITZ!Box, for example motion detectors, door/window contacts, smart buttons, outlet switches.

The connection between the smart home device and the FRITZ!Box is established using the DECT ULE protocol HAN FUN. This allows you to register all smart home devices with the FRITZ!Box that the manufacturer has declared to be compatible with DECT-ULE/HAN-FUN.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • DECT repeaters may not be registered with the FRITZ!Box (under "Telephony > DECT > Monitor").
  • Radiator controllers, for example FRITZ!DECT 301, cannot be switched via smart home devices from other manufacturers.
  • A maximum of ten smart home devices from another manufacturer can be registered with the FRITZ!Box.
