Using the USB remote connection to connect a USB storage device connected to FRITZ!Box to a computer

With the FRITZ!Box USB remote connection software, you can use a USB storage device connected to the FRITZ!Box as if it were connected directly to the computer's USB port.

Important:If you would like to allow all devices in the home network (for example computers, smartphones, tablets) to access a central storage location, configure the USB storage device as storage (NAS).

Requirements / Restrictions

  • Windows 10 / 8 / 7 (64-bit or 32-bit) is installed on the computer.
  • Only one computer can access the USB storage device at a time.
  • The FRITZ!Box Media Server is not available when the FRITZ!Box USB remote connection is active; you cannot access the storage with the FRITZ!NAS user interface or MyFRITZ!.

Important:Some of the settings described here are only displayed if the advanced view is enabled in the user interface. The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS
