Saving settings of smart home devices in templates

You can save the individual settings of your FRITZ!DECT sockets and radiator controls, for example FRITZ!DECT 200 or FRITZ!DECT 301, in different templates. Simply select the appropriate template as required and click to enable the desired settings. You can either switch individual smart home devices or groups with templates.

For example, if you work in shifts, you can save different heating and switching profiles in corresponding templates for early and late shift and then switch between these templates whenever you want.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Creating a template

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click on the "Templates" tab.
  4. Click the "Create New Template" button.
  5. Enable the option "Create new template" and click "Next".
  6. Select the kind of device for which you would like to create a template and click "Next".

Note:Only devices of the same kind, i.e. switching actuators or radiator controls, can be switched together in a template.

  7. Enter a name for the template, for example "early shift", and select the devices and groups you want to assign to the template.

Note:If a device is already in a group, you cannot assign just the device to a template; you can only assign the entire group to a template.

  8. Click "Next".
  9. Select the desired settings and click "Finished".
  10. When you create the first template, the settings of all smart home devices and groups are saved automatically and made available in the "Show Saved Settings" section.

2 Applying a template

Important:When a template is applied, the current settings of the smart home devices and groups included in the template are overwritten.

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click on the "Templates" tab.
  4. Click "Apply template" for the desired template.
  5. Click "OK".

3 Saving and restoring smart home settings

In the "Show Saved Settings" section you will find all of the settings of your smart home devices and the option to restore them, if necessary.

The "Countdown" and "Calendar" settings from individual outlet switches or groups of outlet switches cannot be recovered!

If you change these settings, save the settings again. Backups are not generated automatically.
