FRITZ!Box 7390 Service

Cordless telephone displays the message "No resources"

You cannot use a cordless telephone (for example FRITZ!Fon C5) registered with the FRITZ!Box to make calls over a landline. When you attempt to make a call, one of the following messages is shown on the display of the telephone:

  • "No Resources"
  • "No Resource"
  • "No Route to destination"

Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for your FRITZ!Box.

Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the issue persists.

1 Selecting the correct line type

The line type you must select when configuring your landline number(s) depends on how the FRITZ!Box is connected to the telephone line and not the number of available numbers. For example, if you have an ISDN line with one number, you must select the line type "multiple landline numbers (ISDN line)":

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the "New Telephone Number" button.
  4. Enable the option "Landline number" and click "Next".
  5. Select the type of landline and click "Next".

    Important:You will only be asked to select the type of landline (analog or ISDN line) when you configure the first landline number. If you would like to change the type of landline later, you must first delete all of the landline numbers you entered.

  6. Enter your landline number or ISDN telephone numbers (MSNs) and click "Next".

2 Checking the cabling

Mistakes in the cabling can often be overlooked. Therefore, make sure that the FRITZ!Box is correctly connected to your line:

  • Check the cabling to your landline.

3 Reconfiguring your telephone

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephony Devices" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Delete the telephone that cannot be used to make calls over your landline. To do so, click the corresponding (Delete) button.
  4. Reconfigure the telephone: Click "Configure New Device" and follow the instructions.

4 Checking the landline

  1. Disconnect the FRITZ!Box from the landline.
  2. Connect a telephony device to the same telephone line and check whether it works.
  3. If this telephony device also does not work when connected to the telephone line, contact your telephony provider and have your line checked.
