Opening the FRITZ!Box user interface in "IP Client" or "wireless repeater" mode when the IP address is unknown

If you use the FRITZ!Box as an "IP client" or "wireless repeater", you can no longer enter fritz.box to access the user interface. Instead, you can only use the IP address manually assigned to the FRITZ!Box.

You can still open the FRITZ!Box user interface even if you have forgotten the IP address that was manually assigned to your FRITZ!Box.

Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for your FRITZ!Box.

If you are using an additional FRITZ!Box as a wireless access point or router, then you can access its user interface:

2 Using an "emergency IP" to open the user interface

Preparations

  1. Remove all network cables from the LAN ports on the FRITZ!Box.
  2. Push the "WLAN" button on the FRITZ!Box to disable the wireless network.
    • The WLAN LED begins flashing. The wireless network is switched off as soon as the "WLAN" LED goes off.
  3. Use a network cable to connect a computer to a LAN port on the FRITZ!Box.
