Although none of the current FRITZ!Fon cordless telephones or FRITZ!Box models with integrated DECT base station are currently CAT-iq certified, they support many of the services and functions defined in CAT-iq. For example, the FRITZ! function "HD telephony" complies with the new standard, which means that it is completely compatible with all products for HD telephony based on the CAT-iq standard that are available on the market. It is also possible to use convenience functions (for example alternating between calls, 3-party conferences, CLIP/CNIP) and access the FRITZ!Box telephone book and call list with cordless telephones from other manufacturers that are compatible with CAT-iq 2.0.
In addition, the FRITZ!Box and FRITZ!Fon models from AVM offer a whole range of additional functions that currently cannot be implemented with the CAT-iq standard. For this reason, AVM does not feel that certification is necessary at the moment, nor do we have plans to seek it.
