Using a telephone to send keypad sequences to a telephony provider
You can use keypad sequences (combinations of characters and numbers, for example *50#) to activate and configure services offered by your telephony provider (for example voice mailbox, call diversion) in the provider's exchange.
1 Sending a keypad sequence
- Enter *#[keypad sequence] (for example *#*50#) on your telephone. The telephone must be configured to make calls using the telephone number you are using keypad sequences to configuring the service for.
To send the keypad sequence *50#, enter *#*50# on your telephone. To send this sequence using the second Internet telephone number, enter *122*#*50# on the telephone.
- Press the call key (lift the receiver).
- Hang up again.
Note:Many telephones limit the amount of characters that can be entered. For example, FRITZ!Fon allows you to enter a maximum of 22 characters. If you save the keypad sequence in the FRITZ!Box telephone book, you can use the sequence right away and the sequence length is not limited.
