FRITZ!Box 6810 LTE Service

Setting up the FRITZ!Box for Internet access via LTE

The FRITZ!Box automatically connects to the Internet when you insert your SIM card into the FRITZ!Box and enter the PIN in the FRITZ!Box user interface. All of the computers, smartphones, and other devices connected to the FRITZ!Box can then use the Internet connection at the same time and have equal status.

Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for your FRITZ!Box.

1 Inserting the SIM card

  1. Pick up the FRITZ!Box so that you are facing the underside of the device and can read the "SIM Card" label on the SIM card slot.
  2. Insert the SIM card (mini-SIM) that you received from your LTE provider into the SIM card slot with the slanted edge of the card on the left and the contacts facing downwards (see fig.).
  3. Push the SIM card gently into the SIM card slot until it clicks into place.

    • A few millimeters of the SIM card protrude from the SIM card slot.

      Note:Press the SIM card briefly in order to remove it from the SIM card slot.

2 Plugging the FRITZ!Box in

  • Connect the FRITZ!Box to an electrical outlet. Verify that the socket is live and that other electrical devices function when plugged into it.

3 Configuring the Internet connection

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Start the Wizard to set up the Internet connection:
    • If the FRITZ!Box is set to factory settings:
      • Set a password to access the user interface, then click "Register" and "Next".

    • If you have already changed settings in the user interface:
      • Click "Wizards" (on the left side under the main menu) and then "Set Up Internet Connection" or "Configure Internet Connection".

  3. Enter the PIN (Personal Identification Number) for your SIM card.

    Important:The PIN contains only numbers and not letters or special characters. If you enter the wrong PIN three times, you must enter the SuperPIN/PUK. Your LTE provider can provide you with information on the PIN and SuperPIN/PUK.

  4. Check whether your Internet service provider is displayed in the drop-down list.
    • If your Internet service provider is displayed in the drop-down list:
      • Select your Internet service provider and click "Next".
    • If your Internet service provider is not displayed in the drop-down list:
      • Select "Other Internet service provider" and click "Next".
  5. Follow the Wizard's instructions and click "Next.
