Saving settings of smart home devices in templates

You can save the individual settings of your FRITZ!DECT sockets, FRITZ!DECT radiator controls, for example FRITZ!DECT 200 or FRITZ!DECT 301, and LED lights FRITZ!DECT 500 in different templates. Simply select the appropriate template as required and click to enable the desired settings. You can use templates to switch individual smart home devices or groups.

For example, if you work shifts, you can save different heating and switching profiles in corresponding templates for early and late shift and then quickly switch between these templates at any time.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Creating a template

  1. Click "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Groups and Templates" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  3. Click the "Create Template" button.
  4. Enable the option "Create new template" and click "Next".
  5. Select the device group.
  6. Click the drop-down menu and select the devices you would like to create a template for.

Note:If a device is already assigned to a group, you cannot assign just the device to a template; you must assign the entire group to a template.

  7. Click "Next".

Note:Only devices of the same kind, i.e. socket/LED light or radiator controls, can be switched together in a template.

  8. Enter a name for the template and click ”Next”. The template is then created.
  9. Click "Configure Template Now".
  10. Select the desired switching settings and click "OK".

2 Applying a template

Important:When a template is applied, the current settings of the smart home devices and groups included in the template are overwritten.

  1. Click "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Operation" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  3. Click "Applying" for the desired template.

Note:You can also enable the template with a FRITZ!DECT smart button, a FRITZ!Fon (menu "Home Network > Smart Home"), or use FRITZ!App Smart Home to enable it in the home network or over the internet.
