Wireless network turns itself on and/or off

The FRITZ!Box's wireless network (WiFi) turns itself on and/or off.

Cause

  • The wireless network is being turned on and off by the wireless LAN schedule.

Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to FRITZ!OS 6.83; they may differ or not be available with older FRITZ!OS versions. You can find the version of FRITZ!OS on the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface.

1 Disabling the schedule for the wireless network

The schedule function allows you to automatically turn the FRITZ!Box's wireless network (WiFi) on and off at certain times. This way you can set up night service for the wireless network, for example. The settings for the wireless LAN schedule are applied regardless of whether you turned the wireless network on or off manually.

If you did not intend for the schedule to turn the wireless network on and off, disable it:

Note:Regardless of the schedule, you can enable or disable the wireless network at any time by briefly pushing the "WLAN" button or entering the keypad code #96*1* or #96*0* on a telephone connected to the FRITZ!Box. If you have a FRITZ!Fon, you can select "Home network > WLAN" on the telephone to turn the wireless network on or off.

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Schedule" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Disable the option "Use schedule for wireless radio network".
  4. Click "Apply" to save your settings.
