FRITZ!Box 6490 Cable Service - Knowledge Base

FRITZ!Box 6490 Cable Service

Configuring push services

You can use the push service to have e-mails containing the connection and usage data of the FRITZ!Box sent to you on a regular basis or when certain events occur. Then the FRITZ!Box notifies you, for example, when a new FRITZ!OS is available, when there are new messages on your answering machine, or if you missed a call. In addition, you can have a backup file with your settings sent to you automatically before every FRITZ!OS update.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • You must use an e-mail account with a POP3 e-mail server.
  • POP3 download must be enabled with your e-mail provider.

Note:You can enable download in your e-mail account settings. Your e-mail provider can provide you with information on the procedure.

Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to FRITZ!OS 6.83 or later; they may differ or not be available with older FRITZ!OS versions. You can find the version of FRITZ!OS on the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface.
