FRITZ!Box 5490 Service - Knowledge Base
Using the telephone book search function with FRITZ!Fon
You can set up multiple telephone books in the FRITZ!Box and then use a separate one for each of your FRITZ!Fons. There are two different ways to search for entries in the corresponding telephone book with your FRITZ!Fon.
Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for your FRITZ!Box.
1 Standard telephone book search
The standard telephone book search is enabled in the factory settings and works like that of a mobile telephone. You must press the corresponding number key repeatedly until the entries that begin with the desired letter are displayed.
If you press the "5" key twice, all of the telephone book entries that begin with "K" are displayed. In order to refine your search, then press the "7" key three times in order to see all of the telephone book entries that begin with "KR".
2 Simplified (vanity) telephone book search
If you use the "Simplified telephone book search (vanity)" option, you have to press the number key just once for a letter.
If you press the "5" key, all of the telephone book entries that begin with "J", "K" or "L" are displayed. If you want, you can then refine the search results by pressing the number key for the second letter of the telephone book entry you are searching for, and then the key for the third letter, and so on.
