Connections drop when using devices from Denon / Marantz

The connection between the FRITZ!Box and an AV receiver or a network audio player from Denon or Marantz drops on a regular basis. The problem may occur when listening to web radio stations or playing back video or audio files in the home network, and it occurs with wireless as well as LAN connections. In some cases, the device cannot connect to the FRITZ!Box at all.

Cause

  • Error in FRITZ!OS 6.8x and the firmware of the Denon or Marantz device.

1 Updating the firmware of your Denon / Marantz device

  • Update the firmware of your AV receiver or network audio player. Updates are already available for the first devices such as the Denon RCD-N9 CEOL. Updates will be made available for additional devices in the coming months. Refer to Denon / Marantz for possible release dates for the update.

2 Wait for upcoming FRITZ!OS

We are currently working on a solution and shall correct this behavior with a FRITZ!OS update for the FRITZ!Box as soon as possible. We cannot give you an exact release date for the update yet.

Note:You can have the push service notify you by e-mail when new updates are available. In addition, you can configure the FRITZ!Box so that new updates are installed automatically. You can enable these options under "System > Push Service" or "System > Update > Auto Update" in the user interface.
