Message "Your FRITZ!OS is up to date."
An online update cannot be performed. After you click on the button "Find New FRITZ!OS", the FRITZ!Box displays the message "Your FRITZ!OS is up to date.".
Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the issue persists.
1 Checking whether a newer version is available
- Click "Overview" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Check which FRITZ!OS version is installed and make note of the version number that is displayed.
- Call up our download area in a web browser.
- Select the product group "FRITZ!Box" and then your product.
- Make note of the FRITZ!OS version displayed for your edition of the FRITZ!Box.
If the FRITZ!OS version available for your product or product edition (for example FRITZ!Box 7490 Edition A/CH) in the download area is the same as the one displayed in the user interface, there is currently no newer FRITZ!OS version. Therefore, you cannot update it at present.
2 Updating the firmware manually
A new FRITZ!OS version may be released for the online update a bit after being released for the manual update. As a result, for a short period of time the online update function of the FRITZ!Box cannot find a FRITZ!OS that was already released for manual download:
3 Internet service provider prevents update
Some Internet service providers prevent you from manually installing the FRITZ!OS update for your FRITZ!Box. In this case, you are either temporarily or permanently unable to use the FRITZ!Box user interface to install an update. Contact your provider directly for corresponding information and on when it will be possible to update manually, or when the Internet service provider will automatically install an update.
