FRITZ!Box 3272 Service - Knowledge Base
BPjM filter is no longer available since updating FRITZ!OS
After updating FRITZ!OS, the option "Block web sites with adult content (German BPjM module)" is missing from the user interface. This means that the FRITZ!Box no longer blocks websites that the German Federal Review Board for Media Harmful to Minors (BPjM) has deemed offensive or harmful to minors.
1 BPjM filter is limited to Germany
The German Federal Review Board for Media Harmful to Minors (BPjM) bases its work on regulations to protect minors that are valid for Germany. Since regulations to protect minors are not the same for all countries, in FRITZ!OS 6.20 the option "Block web sites with adult content (German BPjM module)" was limited to use in Germany.
The FRITZ!Box parental controls that allow you to configure time profiles, blacklists and white list can be used regardless of the country of use. The only function not available outside of Germany is the blacklist containing entries from the BPjM module.
In order to still use the BPjM filter, select Germany as your country in the FRITZ!Box's regional settings.
ATTENTION!If you use the FRITZ!Box while an incorrect country is selected, incoming calls may not be correctly signaled by telephones connected to the FRITZ!Box, or caller ID may no longer be displayed (CLIP) on the telephones.
- Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Region and Language" in the "System" menu.
- Click on the "Regional Options" tab.
- Select "Germany" as your country from the drop-down list.
Important:Changing the regional options resets the telephony settings. You must then reconfigure all of the telephony settings (such as telephony devices, call diversion settings, dialing rules).
- Click "Apply" to save your settings.
