MyFRITZ!App 2 displays the error message "No connections to the FRITZ!Box are active"
The error message "No connections to the FRITZ!Box are active" is displayed when you start MyFRITZ!App 2, attempt to access FRITZ!NAS when you are away from home, switch smart home devices, or enable the answering machine or call diversions. Home network connections cannot be established to the FRITZ!Box (VPN). However, MyFRITZ!App 2 informs you about calls, voice messages, and other events.
1 Function requires a public IP address
The "home network connection" (VPN) function can only be used if the FRITZ!Box obtains a public IPv4 address from your Internet service provider. If the FRITZ!Box obtains a private IPv4 address, for example on an Internet connection with DSL-Lite ("Dual Stack Lite"), home network connections cannot be established to the FRITZ!Box.
Note:When DS-Lite is active, the status "IPv4 over DS Lite" is displayed under "Connections" on the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface.
On the other hand, you can access FRITZ!NAS, switch smart home devices, and enable the answering machine and call diversions even if the FRITZ!Box is being operated on an Internet connection with DS-Lite. However, in this case the FRITZ!Box is only available over the Internet via IPv6. You cannot access the FRITZ!Box over IPv4.
Since not all Internet connections support IPv6 connectivity (for example in many mobile communication networks and wireless hotspots), use MyFRITZ!App 2 on your smartphone or tablet to call up www.test-ipv6.com or www.ipv6-test.com to test IPv6 connectivity. You can only access the FRITZ!Box if IPv6 connectivity is available.
A smartphone's mobile connection does not support IPv6 connectivity. In this case you cannot access a FRITZ!Box on a DS-Lite Internet connection.
A smartphone is connected to a wireless router that supports IPv6 connectivity. In this case you can switch smart home devices, but you cannot establish a home network connection (VPN).
