Using FRITZ!App WLAN to enable and share the FRITZ!Box's guest access

With FRITZ!App WLAN you can quickly and easily enable the FRITZ!Box's wireless guest access and share the guest access information with other mobile devices. The app also allows you to adjust the wireless network name (WiFi) and network key before you share the access data.

1 Enabling guest access

  1. Start FRITZ!App WLAN on your Android device.
  2. Tap the symbol in FRITZ!App WLAN.
  3. Tap "Share WiFi".
  4. If necessary, adjust the wireless settings for the guest access.
  5. Tap the "Enable" button.

Now the FRITZ!Box's wireless guest access is enabled and you can use FRITZ!App WLAN to share the wireless guest access information with other mobile devices.

2 Sharing guest access information

Now you can either use the QR code displayed in FRITZ!App WLAN or NFC (Android beam) to share the guest access information with other devices:

Using a QR scan to set up the wireless connection

  1. Start FRITZ!App WLAN on the device that you wish to set up a wireless connection to the guest access with.
  2. Tap the symbol in FRITZ!App WLAN.
  3. Tap "QR Scan".
  4. Aim the camera on the Android device at the QR code displayed by FRITZ!App WLAN.
  5. Tap "Connect" when the QR code was recognized.

Using NFC to set up the wireless connection

  1. Hold both Android devices back to back to initiate NFC.

    Important:If Android Beam is not enabled, tap "Enable Android Beam (NFC)" in FRITZ!App WLAN and use the on/off button to enable NFC. You can also enable NFC by selecting "Settings > More Settings > NFC" in both of the Android devices.

  2. Follow the wizard’s instructions for transmitting the guest access information to the other Android device.
