Reception interference when watching TV with FRITZ!App TV

When watching television with FRITZ!App TV on a smartphone or tablet, you experience picture and/or audio dropouts. This does not occur with a television connected to the same cable wall outlet.

Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.

1 Installing the latest FRITZ!OS

  1. Install the latest FRITZ!OS on all of your FRITZ!products. You can update the FRITZ!OS of your FRITZ!Box as described in this guide.

2 Starting a new channel search

Start a new channel search on the device connected to the cable wall outlet (FRITZ!Box or FRITZ!Repeater).

Configuring the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click "DVB-C" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Channel Search" in the "DVB-C" menu.
  3. Click the "Start Channel Search" button.

Setting up the FRITZ!Repeater

  1. Click "DVB-C" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Channel Search" in the "DVB-C" menu.
  3. Click the "Start Channel Search" button.

3 Enabling deinterlacing in iOS

The following step is only necessary if lines appear when watching television with your iPhone or iPad and there is movement in the picture:

  1. Start FRITZ!App TV.
  2. Tap "Info".
  3. Tap "More" in the section "Other".
  4. Enable the option "Deinterlacing" for FRITZ!App TV.

    Important:Deinterlacing can only be enabled in FRITZ!App TV if the iOS device uses at least an A7 chip. Refer directly to Apple for information on the technical specifications of the device, for example consult the manual.
