FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber receives certification from Broadband Forum
AVM has received BBF.247 certification for the XGS-PON fiber optic technology from the Broadband Forum (BBF) for the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber. The Broadband Forum, active across the globe, thus confirms the seamless deployment of the fiber optic FRITZ!Box in XGS-PON fiber optic networks. XGS-PON stands for X=10, Gigabit, Symmetrical, Passive Optical Network. The certification proves the conformity of the product with the latest ITU standard G.9807.1 for symmetrical 10 Gbit/s PON networks. The high performance of the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber for XGS-PON was successfully tested in the BBF's strict certification program for optical network units (ONU).The FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber is ready for use in Germany in all common fiber optic networks.

The FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber is suitable for all connections to active (AON) or passive (GPON, XGS-PON) optical networks. It offers transfer rates of several gigabits per second and can also be used for gigabit upload connections, depending on the provider. Equipped with the new Wi-Fi 6 standard, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber can distribute high gigabit speeds wirelessly throughout the home. Data rates of up to 2400 Mbit/s are possible in the 5-GHz band, and up to 600 Mbit/s can be reached in the 2.4-GHz band. In addition to these high data rates, the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi 6 offers short response times and enables the simultaneous use of multiple devices in the Wi-Fi network. Streaming, downloads, cloud gaming - with the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber, all applications and services can be used simultaneously and seamlessly on multiple devices. The integrated Mesh Wi-Fi ensures the optimal connection of all devices. For the wired home network, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber features a fast 2.5-Gbit/s LAN port. In addition, the new FRITZ!Box includes a DECT base station for telephony and Smart Home. With the versatile FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber in a white design, users get the high level of FRITZ! convenience with firewall, parental controls, remote access, Wi-Fi guest access and regular updates. Thanks to router freedom in Germany, users can freely select their end device and the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber can be used on every fiber optic connection in Germany.
