FRITZ! tips for the festive season

With the FRITZ! products from AVM it really is the most wonderful time of the year. FRITZ!OS 7 blankets every room in wireless LAN, the FRITZ!DECT 210 smart plug controls the holiday lights while the FRITZ!Box Media Server fills the home with classic Christmas tunes. Users can head to en.avm.de/guide for more handy tips.

Wireless for all - thanks to FRITZ!OS 7

The festive season is all about family, but when the house is full over Christmas you quickly realize if there are WiFi weak spots and where they are. To ensure that all family members can surf wirelessly even in the furthest corner of the house, FRITZ!OS 7 is available free of charge for many FRITZ!WLAN repeaters and FRITZ!powerline products - just in time for the Advent season! The major update offers higher speeds, improved coverage and security, making the Mesh WiFi from FRITZ! even more convenient and easy to use. Navigate to the Mesh Overview in your FRITZ!Box to carry out the update.

Christmas lights the Smart Home way

The FRITZ!DECT 210 smart plug together with a motion sensor, for example from Deutsche Telekom, makes managing outdoor lighting a breeze, perfect for those cold winter evenings. After registering the motion sensor and the smart plug on the FRITZ!Box, the motion sensor needs to be mounted to the wall and the outdoor lighting needs to be connected to the FRITZ!DECT 210. All that's left to do is set up a schedule in the motion sensor's Smart Home profile and enter for how long you would like the lights to stay on. As soon as someone approaches the front door, the light will automatically turn on for the specified time. The FRITZ!DECT 210 also works at temperatures as low as -20 degrees.

Stream your festive playlist from the FRITZ!Box

Did you know you can stream this year's Christmas playlist on your FRITZ!Box? The FRITZ!Box Media Server makes it easy to stream internet radio stations. Users can activate the media server in the "Home Network" area of the FRITZ!Box user interface. In the "Internet Radio" tab users can select a radio station or add a new one. The playlists or radio station can now be played directly through a wireless speaker, a FRITZ!Fon or the FRITZ!App Media.
