Strong connectivity and intelligence in home networks: FRITZ!Box for DOCSIS 3.1, for G.fast – WiFi Mesh for coverage and high data rates

At ANGA COM, AVM is exhibiting the FRITZ!Box models for the next expansion stage in
cable and DSL networks. With the FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable, AVM is presenting for the first time a FRITZ!Box for the new DOCSIS 3.1 standard. By means of OFDM channel bonding as specified in DOCSIS 3.1, it reaches top speeds of up to 6 GBit/s downstream and 2 GBit/s upstream and offers providers additional flexibility with adjustable upstream frequency ranges. AVM brings the first end-device – the FRITZ!Box 7582 – for G.fast and supervectoring 35b to the starting line in Germany. For high speeds of up to 1 GBit/s over copper cable, AVM has added another high-performance FRITZ!Box to its portfolio. FRITZ!Box 7582 is compatible with all existing connections, namely, VDSL vectoring, VDSL and ADSL. It is also very well-equipped with fast dual-band Wireless AC+N. The new FRITZ!Box 7582 supports telephony in HD quality and offers connections for DECT, IP and analog telephones. As demands increase for speed at the connection and the number of mobile devices at home grows, more speed is required in the home network too. Now there’s a need for an intelligent WiFi that seamlessly and rapidly distributes data to smartphones, tablets, etc. throughout the house. Current FRITZ!Box models already offer the best WiFi with 4 x 4 Multi-User MIMO in both wireless bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and thus deliver ideal data rates and provide good coverage. Depending on the size of an apartment or the layout, the FRITZ!Box extends a high-performance WiFi with mesh networking convenience though the combination of single and dual-band repeaters and Powerline/WiFi products. With seven companion devices, AVM offers a modular product portfolio with standardized wireless network names and automatic adoption of settings for broad coverage. With the upcoming FRITZ!OS, AVM shows new functions such as band steering for wireless repeaters and Powerline/WiFi devices, dynamic uplink and a graphic overview of all connections in the home network. For expansion in cable networks: FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable

With the FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable, AVM presents for the first time a FRITZ!Box prototype for the
DOCSIS 3.1 standard. Equipped with 2 x 2 OFDM channel bonding (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) in compliance with DOCSIS 3.1, it achieves top speeds of up to 6 GBit/s downstream and 2 GBit/s upstream. The configurable upstream filter for the range from 5 to 204 MHz offers providers additional flexibility. The future FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable is backward-compatibible to DOCSIS 3.0 with 32 x 8 channel bonding. The simultaneous operation of DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 in networks is possible with FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable. Furthermore, the future FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable is fully equipped for WiFi, telephony and Smart Home with fast, intelligent dual-band Wireless AC + N, an internal ISDN S₀ bus, connection options for analog telephones and a DECT base station for wireless telephones and Smart Home applications. A versatile home network can be realized with four gigabit LAN ports and two USB 3.0 ports. Pilot projects with DOCSIS 3.1 will soon be launched in the cable networks. FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable is ideally prepared for this upcoming expansion stage.

Flexible and future-proof FRITZ!Box 7582 for G.fast, VDSL, including supervectoring, ADSL

AVM brings FRITZ!Box 7582, the first end-device for DSL technologies G.fast and supervectoring 35b, to the market in Germany. Now AVM has another powerful FRITZ!Box on offer for the next expansion stages in communication networks. G.fast and supervectoring 35b can be used to provide the speed of fiberglass networks via the available copper wiring in residential buildings too. Perfectly aligned with this DSL expansion stage, FRITZ!Box 7582 guarantees compatibility with all existing connections, i.e., VDSL vectoring, VDSL and ADSL. The top equipment of the FRITZ!Box is designed not just for the communications network, but for the home network too. Fast dual-band Wireless AC + N ensures high data throughput even over long distances. Besides Wireless AC with 1300 MBit/s (5 GHz), a Wireless N network with 450 MBit/s (2.4 GHz) can be used simultaneously for several mobile devices. The new FRITZ!Box supports telephone calls in HD quality and connects DECT, IP and analog telephones. Equipped with all features of FRITZ!OS, FRITZ!Box 7582 is the perfect hub for the Smart Home, which includes the media server, NAS function and management of FRITZ! smart plugs and FRITZ! radiator controls. Furthermore, it offers convenience functions such as wireless guest access, parental controls and MyFRITZ! for secure access to the home network when the user is away from home. Effective immediately, FRITZ!Box 7582 is available from providers that offer G.fast in their networks.

FRITZ!WLAN with mesh performance: broad coverage, intelligent data distribution to many devices

At ANGA COM 2017, AVM is presenting new functions that provide even more wireless perfor-mance for the increasing number of mobile devices. Current FRITZ!Box models already offer the best wireless networks with 4 x 4 Multi-User MIMO in both wireless bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and thereby provide ideal data rates and very good coverage. Depending on the size of an apartment or the layout, the FRITZ!Box extends a high-performance WiFi with mesh convenience though the combination of single and dual-band repeaters and Powerline/WiFi products. With seven companion devices, AVM offers a modular product portfolio with standardized wireless network names and automatic adoption of settings for broad coverage. Just plug the wireless repeater or Powerline/WiFi adapter into the outlet, press a button to connect the FRITZ!Box and network coverage is enlarged. All devices continue to use the WiFi with the same name (SSID) and network key (WPA2). Highly developed wireless LAN technologies such as crossband repeating, band steering and Multi-User MIMO ensure fast and efficient distribution of data. At the trade fair stand in
Cologne AVM is exhibiting the future FRITZ!OS version. A new graphic overview shows with which FRITZ! products and at which data rates the home network devices such as smartphones, televi-sions, printers, etc. are connected. With the use of several wireless repeaters, the system decides the best way to gain access to the home network (dynamic uplink). Another new WiFi feature is band steering for repeaters and Powerline/WiFi devices. The wireless LAN frequency bands are automatically managed for all FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters and Powerline/WiFi products that support dual-band so that the best possible data transmission is achieved.
