AVM is perfectly prepared for router freedom in Germany with FRITZ!Box

At Anga Com 2016, AVM is presenting its FRITZ! product portfolio for broadband connections and home networking under the motto “Broadband meets intelligent networking”. With its FRITZ!Box models for DSL, Cable, Fiber and LTE, the Berlin-based communications specialist is perfectly prepared for a new law on router freedom that will take effect in Germany on 1 August. The law ensures that German Internet users are free to use a router of choice on their Internet connection and benefit from all features and functions. Users can find all the necessary information for using the FRITZ!Box with any provider connection in Germany at “avm.de/laeuft”. The upcoming FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable with 32 x 8 channel bonding and fast wireless LAN with Multi-User MIMO technology is one of AVM’s highlights in Cologne. The current flagship model for cable connections, the FRITZ!Box 6490 Cable, will be available in retail across Germany on 1 August. The new FRITZ!OS (en.avm.de/fritzos) can also be experienced live at AVM’s stand in Cologne.

  • 4 x gigabit LAN
  • 2 x USB 2.0 ports
  • DECT base station for telephones and Smart Home applications
  • Internal ISDN S₀ bus for ISDN telephones or ISDN telephone system
  • 2 x ports for analog telephones or fax (a/b port)
  • When combined with FRITZ!App TV or VLC player, transmits cable TV (DVB-C) via WiFi to mobile devices in the home network
  • Currently available from providers, starting 1 August also available at retail outlets across Germany
