High-end wireless LAN on VDSL connections: The new FRITZ!Box 7580

With its FRITZ!Box 7580 AVM is introducing a VDSL router that offers high-performance WiFi for homes with many mobile devices. The FRITZ!Box 7580 supports VDSL vectoring and can be used on fast cable or fiber optic modems via the gigabit WAN port. It fulfills the high demands of your home network with Multi-User MIMO, transmitting on both frequencies with a total of eight antennas (4 x 4 Multi-User MIMO 5 GHz, 4 x 4 MIMO 2.4 GHz) so that many wireless applications can be used concurrently. The device is also suitable for All IP connections, providing a DECT base station and offering versatile connection options for telephony devices (VoIP, ISDN, analog) and home networking. FRITZ!OS includes many convenient features like FRITZ!NAS, a media server, wireless guest access, Smart Home, an auto-update function and MyFRITZ! (German market launch: Second quarter of 2016).

Speed upgrade for DSL: FRITZ!Box for bonding, supervectoring 35b and G.fast

For more speed on the copper twin wire, there's the prospect of combining several lines (bonding) or extending the bandwidth for transmission (supervectoring 35b on 35 MHz, G.fast on 106 or 212 MHz). Two upcoming FRITZ!Box models are well prepared for these DSL speed boosters. The FRITZ!Box 7581 supports supervectoring 35b and bonding. Bonding raises the available data rate on existing copper wires to as much as 240 Mbit/s. Combining bonding and vectoring can even make transmission rates of up to 300 Mbit/s possible. On a cable length of maximum 300 meters, G.fast can enable data rates of up to 1 Gbit/s. The FRITZ!Box 7582 for supervectoring 35b and G.fast can easily pass gigabit speeds on to the devices in the home network. With the upcoming models users receive faster Internet, IP telephony and IP TV. Plus, they can network their devices via LAN or fast WiFi at gigabit speeds. For the future development of DSL networks, AVM is offering providers two powerful models: FRITZ!Box 7581 and 7582.
